Jelle Kalter was born and raised in Nieuw-Lekkerland, a small village in South Holland. In his younger years, he fished extensively in the polder systems that dot this area. As he grew older, he began fishing with ledgered deadbaits, influenced by the films of Mick Brown. This fishing technique was still relatively unknown in the Netherlands at that time, as most people still fished with a float. According to Jelle, ledgered fishing is one of the best ways to catch a large pike from the shore in winter. He also enjoys fishing from a (Hobie) kayak. Jelle prefers to target large pike, both with deadbait and artificial lures.
