Radek Filip lives in Poděbrady close to the largest Czech river - the Labe. He has a background in marketing and is a fishing journalist and photographer publishing worldwide. He has also worked for 8 years as Editor in Chief of fishing magazine ''Kajman'' and for 4 years as Editor in the carp fishing magazine ''Kapr''.
He is an all-round fisherman, but his biggest passion is predator fishing with artificial lures. He focuses most of his fishing time on targeting the biggest fish specimen in Europe. Among his trophy caught fish belongs a 127cm pike, 114cm hucho, 51cm perch, 75kg catfish, 65kg tuna and many other fish.
Radek is also a successful competition fisherman. His biggest tournament fishing success is winning the World Predator Classic 2019 with his fishing partner Martin Štěpka. He caught a 117cm pike during this competition besides other fishes, and that was enough to secure him and his partner the 1st place.
He has been fishing with Westin tackle for a long time. The first Westin lure he ever used was Big Bob while he was fishing for Skrei. After that he bought a TwinTeez for his vertical jig-fishing. TwinTeez was thanks to that one of the first lures that was ever used for modern vertical jigging in Czech waters. He has a vast experience with doing reviews and testing out fishing tackle. He is keen and proud, to contribute with all of his knowledge and expertise, to help the future development and promotion of Westin tackle and equipment.
