Urban Dogša has been an all-round angler for as long as he can remember. Most of his early fishing days were dedicated to carp fishing. At that time he was also one of the founding members of the Slovenian Carp fishing association. Meanwhile, he is actively involved in the local Maribor Fishing Club, where he serves as the chairman of the supervisory board and is one of the most deserving people for the implementation of the annual biodiversity conservation project in the Drava river. After the birth of his daughter Pia in 2010, he began to run out of time to carry out multi-day carp fishing campaigns, so it was necessary to make a compromise between fishing and family obligations. This is how he became interested in fishing for predatory fish, where he excelled fast, especially fishing on larger Slovenian gravel pits and the local Drava river. He mostly fishes for large pikes but also had some remarkable success fishing for zander and wels catfish.
